RingThru

Scam Shield

A trusted voice before the scammer's call, and a fast alert after it

Scammers win with fear ("you are under arrest"), secrecy ("don't tell your family") and hurry ("transfer now"). RingThru can't block their calls. What it can do is make sure your parent has heard the warning, has a number to ring, and that you hear about it in minutes.

Four layers of protection

  1. 1. Before the scam: a weekly tip

Every daily call ends with a 20-second tip in Malayalam. The topic changes each week: digital arrest, fake KSEB bill cut-off, courier or customs parcel, bank KYC update, lottery or prize, "your grandson is in trouble", and OTP sharing. One line repeats every week: police never arrest anyone on a video call.

  2. 2. During the scam: call before you pay

During setup you save the RingThru number on your parent's phone as "RingThru, call before you pay". If a call feels wrong, they cut it and ring us. RingThru listens, recognises the pattern, and says clearly: this is a scam, don't pay, don't call back. You get an urgent alert at the same moment.

  3. 3. After the call: a gentle check

The next daily call asks directly: did anyone call about the police, a courier, the bank, KYC or a prize? We check the answer for warning signs, like fear, secrecy or talk of transfers, and send you an urgent alert if we find any.

  4. 4. If money was sent: the golden hour

Your alert includes a checklist you can act on right away. The faster a fraud is reported, the better the chance of freezing the money.

The golden-hour checklist

In March 2026, Kochi Cyber Police recovered ₹1.06 crore for an 81-year-old doctor because the complaint was filed quickly.

  1. Call 1930, the national cyber fraud helpline, straight away.
  2. Report it at cybercrime.gov.in and note the complaint number.
  3. Call the bank's official number to block cards and freeze the account.
  4. Keep screenshots, phone numbers and transaction IDs. Don't delete the chat.
  5. Don't pay anyone who offers to "recover" the money. That is a second scam.

Scams we warn about

  • Digital arrest

Fake police, CBI or customs officers on a video call say you are linked to a crime and must stay on the call and pay.

  • KSEB bill cut-off

An SMS says your power will be cut tonight unless you call a number or pay through a link.

  • Courier or customs parcel

"A parcel in your name has drugs in it." The call is passed to a fake officer.

  • Bank KYC update

"Your account will be blocked. Share the OTP to update KYC."

  • Lottery or prize

"You've won. Pay a small fee to release the prize."

  • Family in trouble

"Your grandson has been arrested. Send money now and don't tell his parents."

What RingThru cannot do

RingThru cannot listen to or block your parent's other calls, and it cannot see their bank account. Its strength is a voice they hear every day and an alert that reaches you fast.
